Last weekend I took one of my most favorite cake decorating classes. We made a 'faux' cake that looks like a Tiffany gift box with jewels pouring out the top. Everything in the photos is made out of sugar/is totally edible (well except for the cake board holding the cake).
I covered a cake with fondant for the first time. It was not an easy thing to do and have it look smooth and pretty. And we did quite a bit with my old friend gum paste. Because the flower is a 'fantasy flower', it was fun and easy to make. This class focused on leaning techniques and being creative.
We also made cake pops that look like little tiny Tiffany gift boxes. They are really adorable.
I'm hoping to get creative with my new skills and show off during July birthday season.
